"La Comparsa " is a continuation of my ongoing exploration of found family photographs. By reprinting these photographs or portions of them and placing them into new contexts, I am able to explore issues of heredity, home, place, gesture, relationships, and time. My installation represents a sort of puzzle concerning these ideas via its scattered locations throughout the pecan grove at Connemara. The title refers to the 1930 piano composition "La Comparsa" (Carnival Procession) by Ernesto Lecuona.
