Installation at DiverseWorks, Houston TX
"Guest Room" occupied a specially constructed 13' square room at DiverseWorks Art Space during Fotofest 2000. On three walls of the room enlarged ink jet prints of early 20th century family snapshots were installed in window-like grids of black wood document frames. In the center of the room was a neatly sculpted rectangular mound of shredded newspapers. The piece evoked a sense of place and history while exploring relationships between memory and loss, home and work, individuals and family. |
