"No Parking Any Time ", 2010

Mokah Gallery, Dallas TX

“No Parking Any Time”was a collaborative installation of mixed-media works by Du Chau, Alison Starr, and myself, created in response to one another’s work, the gallery space, and most importantly, our impulse to constantly move forward; therefore, the title “No Parking Any Time”. The three of us share a professional relationship and personal friendship. Coming from independent art career paths, we have discovered a shared interest in the creative potential of “the multiple” through exploration of mold-making, slip-casting, recycling of materials, and video art. We met when Alison and I enrolled in a mold-making class taught by Du at Brookhaven College in Dallas. The class proved to be pivotal to our work, and it revealed our mutual interest in the conceptual potential of these media.
