"Anxious Times" is inspired by the book The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams (1922), in which a stuffed toy rabbit seeks to become real. My piece is one of a new series of clay sculptures through which I examine relationships between images and reality. I find the practice mold making and casting to be similar to the practice of photography in that the cast piece is a direct tracing of its referent.
