"Love for Sale" was one of two unique installation pieces that I created for the group exhibition "Side Affect" at Liliana Bloch Gallery in Dallas, TX. The exhibition title alluded to the U.S Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) evolving regulatory practices since its inception in 1892. A heirarchy of cast clay"bunnies" are displayed for sale on a ladder/plinth. Painted bronze, silver, and gold, and lacking ears, the rabbits speak to the effects of increasingly rapid mass production and promotion of food and drugs. Art created out of love is packaged and sold according to the dictates of the marketplace.
