"Ten Degrees of Separation", 2007-Present

A vintage 4x5´´class photo has been repeatedly enlarged, cropped, and re-photographed several times using a variety of cameras. The final images shown here reveal the effects of digitization from a large-pixel toy video camera and projection onto the television screen. The faces are at least ten degrees of separation from the originals, hence, the title "Ten Degrees of Separation", yet each retains recognizable features of a unique iindividual. Each print is overlaid with a hand-written alpha-numeric code. Where does identity reside? At what point is it lost?
