In 2007 I served on a Grand Jury. Each day we were presented with a docket, a printed list of cases to be heard that day. Our job was to determine if there was sufficient evidence to require a jury trial, in which case it was assigned the classification "True Bill". This piece is drawn from the standard abbreviations for the various crimes listed on the docket. Cocktail napkins contribute a variety of additional connotations. |
