The title of this piece comes from Norman Maclean's book A River Runs Through It. Just as the rivers of Montana informed his person, I grew up in northern Wisconsin, where lakes played an important part in my life. This piece presents a list of lakes that hold significant memories for me. Colored thread, table linens, and wine glasses carry further remembered meanings and speak to formal preferences developed and ingrained during my formative years.
